We Are Here to Help You Navigate Auditory Processing

People with APD often have normal hearing but may act as if they have a hearing loss. Common signs and symptoms of an auditory processing disorder include:

  • ‍Difficulty distinguishing between similar-sounding words (e.g., cat, hat, bat, that or seventeen and seventy)
  • Struggling to hear in background noise
  • Trouble filtering out unwanted sounds and focusing on desired sounds
  • Challenges with communication, thinking, attention, and behavior

"Ashley was wonderful! She provided validation of my struggles both through testing and with her kind understanding words. When explaining the results, she explained the results in a way that I could understand why I was struggling and for the first time in my life I have a way forward that will hopefully reduce the number of times I say "huh?" or "what was that?" in a day."
